About Pokemon Indigo League Season 1 Blu-ray

Pokemon Indigo League Season 1 contains episodes 1-52 of the anime directed by Kunihiko Yuyama.

It’s Ash Ketchum’s tenth birthday, and he’s ready to do what many 10-year-olds in the Kanto region set out to do—become a Pokémon Trainer! Things don’t go exactly the way he planned when he ends up with a Pikachu instead of a standard first Pokémon, and winning Gym Badges turns out to be much tougher than he thought. Luckily he’s got former Gym Leaders Brock and Misty at his side, along with a bevy of new Pokémon friends, including Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander.

Good value and nostalgia but.....

by

You get a lot of episodes for your money and in blu ray. If you loved pokemon as a Kid this is probably for you.

BUT,
Keep in mind these are the 4kids version of pokemon which go out of there way to appeal to kids and in the process make a extremely cheesy feeling show. There is no Japanese audio and there are entire episodes or scenes cut.

Genuinely Disappointed.

Cons: This and the collectors' edition do not include the entire first season. This has episodes 01-52. Episodes 53-79 are NOT included.
Quality suffers due to poor compression or just OLM not caring about properly re-releasing the series.
No bonus features. No Japanese audio.
There's an intro song, pokerap and end credits for every single episode.
There exist only 5 parts to the pokerap. ...
I can understand catering to nostalgia but this is just poor formatting, repetitious and lazy.
"Mystery of the Lighthouse"s runtime audio is tinny and echoes strangely.
This is the only episode out of the 52 that has this problem.
Starting at ep 25 of the third disc, an extra set of tv bumpers are included after the "who's that pokemon" tv bumper. I should also mention that the VHS tv bumpers are also included at the beginning of each episode as well.
There are 3 sets of tv bumpers on a home release. For each episode. ...
Pros: ... It's the only licensed Indigo League blu-ray release.
