Not as good as Please Teacher

by -

This is a spin off of Please Teacher. The events take place 2 years later and revolve around 3 characters.. Mike, Mina, and Karen. Several characters from Please Teacher do make appearances and act as supporting cast members.

Overall, I think this series while enjoyable does not have quite the spark as it's predecessor did. Particularly in the early episodes this series teeters down the creepy path, and does have several apparent plot holes.

Kotoko's Opening theme "Second Flight" is once again amazing and the overall musical soundtrack is on par with Please Teacher.

Visually though I think this series really shows it's age, picture quality jumps around from scene to scene.. with some looking very good even in Blu-ray while other scenes, really fare no better then on DVD.

In Summary, not as good as Please Teacher but overall not bad. If you need to get everything on Blu-ray then go for it. If not.. then your Bandai America Copies will do just as well.

One is a Sibling, One is a Stranger

I was a huge fan of Please Teacher back in the day but for one reason or another I never got to Please Twins, until this glorious re-release!

If you've never seen Please Teacher before Please Twins is more of a spin off than a direct sequel. You don't need to have see Please Teacher in order to see Please Twins though if you do you'll probably understand a few characters that crossover from Please Teacher.

Obviously it's hard to not directly compare the two since they are similar in concept though have a very different feel to them. Please Teacher was a very serious romantic drama that had some some serious themes about relationships and mental issues. In comparison Please Twins is a lot more lighthearted though there are serious moments as well.

I could go on for a while about what is different & what someone wouldn't like but in the end I would say that Please Twins compliments Please Teacher very well and instead of directly comparing them I would put them on equal ground.

Worthy Upgrade from my Bandai DVD

Chops to Nozomi for releasing this title and Please Teacher both on Blu Ray. The Extras are more than you could hope for, with the all the image vocals and the complete ending collection. As for the content, it's Please Twins looking the best I have seen. It's a good show, and while not as good as Please Teacher it is still a nice ride. I personally find I watch this one more than Please Teacher, so I must like it more for some reason. A romantic triangle done right. I will say that "Episode 13" was an OVA, and Episode 12 has the "Real Ending". Great show, thanks Nozomi!
