Hidden Gem of 2014

by

One of the hidden gems in 2014. If you can get past the art, Ping Pong is a great anime. The show is more about two boys coming of age than it is about ping pong. Ping Pong has one of the greatest character development that I've seen in a very long time. Each character is unique and feels genuine.

Great release!

This show is an absolute gem. If you can get past the unique art style the animation is actually beautiful and fluid especially when they are playing pong. This blu ray release is cheap while still being of good quality. Worth every penny, and a must have for any Yuasa fan.

Uniquely animated sports anime with a great story, but a very minimal release.

As for my personal order, the item arrived fine and in great condition. Though I was a little disappointed it didn't come with a slip cover, that's no big deal and I don't know if it was actually supposed to.
As for the show, this is a great sports anime with some unique and almost eccentric animation. This is to be expected from any show with Masaaki Yuasa's name on it, but for newcomers to his work.. This is not your normal animation.. In regard to what's included on this, it's very minimal. There aren't any standout extras for this release. No physical goodies like foldout posters, and no digital goodies like episode commentaries or interviews with the staff. This release is just simply the show. If you're interested in watching or just owning this show, I recommend this release.
If you're looking for something more, consider the other release that's not the S.A.V.E. version.
But at the time of me typing this review, that is currently unavailable at the time I am typing this.

Love this show!

A grounded Sports Anime with some unique art and an ending that perfectly suits the themes of the show!

It's also a nice introduction to Masaaki Yuasa's work!
