The Mobile Police Patlabor My "Alphonse"

I'm not one of those Anime Fans that complain about if Blue-ray case's only get's a sleeve or should come in a wooden box. This is a review on a Classic Anime and anyone that has heard of PATLABOR,
And This is a show that I can say. It has been a long time coming, And Maiden Japan has out done them selves. So Moble Police Patlabor TV has all 47 Episodes on 9 Disc's, In one large case. And it is all remastered Sound and Picture but stays to the classic Anime.
The Second Case you get OVA that on one Disc 7 Episodes, and then two disc's that has 16 episodes of The New Files. then the Patlabor the movie, Patlabor 2. WXIII: Patlabor 3.
For the Price this is well worth it. For Any true fan of Mobile Police Patlabor, and any Fan of the Classic Anime's of the 90's.
Since I only seen Patlabor long ago on the Anime Network, I fell in Love but never could find it on DVD or Blue-Ray, To now. This show brings back some memories. And this works for a fan in Canada.
Worth Buying

This is a reprint of the Special Edition that was released last year.
This time its a paper slip cover instead of a chipboard box like the previous release.
Other than that the release (2 BD boxes) is exactly the same and is a great price for the amount of content.
A great purchase (specially if you missed out on the previous release) for fans of Patlabor, mecha anime or 80s anime in general.
Stone-cold classic

I took a chance on buying an entire franchise on the word of one YouTube video and the reputation of Mamoru Oshii, and I was not disappointed. I've watched the first OVA and all three movies, and I am seriously satisfied. Can't wait for the series and the second OVA!
Bang for your Buck

Anyone who is looking to get into Patlabor, probably already knows that it's become quite the franchise and can be hard to get into. Up until this release, the series didn't have the most accessible physical releases. This box set is perfect.
2 OVA series, the TV series and 3 movies all at a super affordable price. The amount of Aniplex releases that charge up to 150 USD for a 13 episode series, and excuse it by sometimes adding useless extras and fluff is so annoying.
This box set is exactly what it needs to be; Patlabor. Nothing else, so here's a great price.
More releases like this pls. Pick this up.
Definitely Worth Checking Out!

This is great set to have. You essentially get everything the series has to offer. The first OVA series is a fantastic set up of the characters dynamic and the atmosphere of the world.
Compared to other big robot animes like Gundam or Macross, you get something a little more grounded in reality (not to say that it doesn't get a little weird at times). Basically an incompetent team of police officers piloting large robots to stop other large robots gone rogue.
Check it out if you want some of that classic, drawn on cel, animation.
Great SoL show from an unexpected genre

One of my favorite shows. Do not be put off by the mecha, this show is slice of life/comedy and has great world building.

Patlabor has always been one of my favorite series. It has an excellent cast of characters and tells stories that range through a wide variety of genres ranging from comedy to full on suspense thrillers to even things even more out of this world. The characters are endearing and memorable, the robots are super cool and there's something here everyone can connect with. This set contains the entire series. All the OVAs, TV series, movies and even the mini-pato gag featurette and is easily well worth your time.

I'd never seen this series before but I'd heard of it here and there. I'm glad I gave it a chance, as it instantly became one of my all-time favorite anime series. The insanely charming ensemble of characters allows Patlabor to be just about anything. Police procedural, sci-fi monster romp, goofy comedy, or political thriller--you can find just about everything in this series between the TV show, OVAs, and theatrical movies.
The collection is packed with content. The picture and sound are both great. Really with how much you get this set is really a great value for what you pay for.
Mecha for literally anyone

What a great box set with literally everything in this franchise all together at a super affordable price, and the packing of all the discs isn't that bad either. So happy this came out as Patlabor has mecha for anyone - the OVAs are great, mostly self contained pieces that really have an edge to them, the TV series is much more light hearted and comedic, and the movies are fantastic, unbelievably well put together slow burn dramas - Patlabor 2 is one of the most impressive animated movies I have ever seen with an excellent story, absolutely beautiful animation, and is just soaked in atmosphere and aesthetics in its presentation.
An amazing gem in the rough!

I had purchased this anime on a whim. Going on nothing more than reviews. I was blown away by just the pure writing genius of the show. I honestly chuckled several times through the show. Actual story elements were well written and the slice of life random episodes were written just as well. The creators really had there hearts on there sleeves writting this masterpiece of a gem. All I have to say is just buy this set. you will be far from disappointed!
