About Parasyte the Maxim Complete Collection Blu-ray

Parasyte ~the maxim~ contains episodes 1-24 of the anime directed by Kenichi Shimizu.

They're the perfect killing machines, blending invisibly into human civilization by taking the form of their last victim. For Shinichi Izumi, infected with a deadly parasitic organism that's determined to devour his brain and turn his body into the Earth's new apex predator, they're the ultimate nightmare. But instead of being consumed, Shinichi manages to partially foil the attack, leaving him with the parasyte known as Migi taking the place of his right hand.

Now forced to share the same body, the two must become unwilling allies. Because Migi isn't the only one of his kind, and unless they work together, they'll both be killed as abominations. Prepare yourself for a horrifying new world where monsters lurk behind every corner and every face as the human race becomes prey!

What would you do if a monstrous parasite took over a body part

by -

I really enjoyed this show and am beyond excited to have it apart of my collection. I loved the art style, the action scenes, and the overall flow of the story. As well as the developing relationship/acceptance between the main character and this monster parasite that happened to take over his hand. Its a horror/thriller

One of the best

Honestly one of the best animes I've ever seen. It's so well done and the dub actors bring it to another level. Go in blind and enjoy it.

A Most Unique Concept of a Horror Story

by -

"Parasyte Maxim" is actually fresh to me for a horror anime series. While you can expect the usual gore/bloody scenes typical of the genre, the show impressed me for the symbiotic relationship between (parasyte named Migi) and Shinichi Izumi. Naturally, other parasites have arrived, and they tend to hunt and kill their own that fail to properly invade the host(s) body, and so as the hunt begins, two different species (Migi/Izumi) must now fight forcefully together in order to survive.

I do like this show for its combination of horror and mutual cooperation concepts. I also enjoyed the character's progression from symbiosis, to 'bonding' friendship, and even gave a "K-9" type partnership feel to it...and guess whom I felt was the pet VS master for a time?

A horror show with a 'buddy, buddy aesthetic to it, features lots of plot twists, some subtle humorous scenes, and a good satisfying conclusion overall to the series.
