Tall, Dark and funny? Yes!

This "trapped in another world" anime is second to none! While it's full of humor it's also sinister and dark. I love Overlord! If you out like fantasy/rpg stuff this is for you!
i want to be an overlord in the next game i play!

this is a must have for anyone that loves anime. the "in world" intricacies of this one sets it apart from all others of its genre. yes... sword art online is an amazing anime... but this one (in my opinion) surpasses it. for anyone that's competitive, being overpowered has never not been fun.
A must-have for fans of Isekai/powerful protagonist type anime genre
by Lazarus -
I love this anime. Even if isekai is overdone, Overlord takes it in a interesting and different direction than most others I've seen. Most others being "Summoned to another world and given superpowers/defeat demon lord etc etc."
Ainz Ooal Gown is already powerful by his own doing, no one gives him that power and that makes it already more interesting than, say, Isekai Cheat Magician (not a great anime but moderately entertaining for a few episodes).
After watching Ainz declare his desire to rule his new world, I was already hooked and couldn't wait to get my hands on the other two seasons...
Just Great

A funny, tongue-in-cheek show, with dark fantasy elements and beautiful animation style. Some familiar plot lines but it all comes off so fresh you don't even care.
Overpowered done right

There are many series with an overpowered hero; they tend to be pretty weak when played straight. In Overlord, you have a regular joe seeing his guild disband then becoming trapped in a game where he acts awesome and is overpowered but really is not sure what he is doing. You have many different subtexts from the grimdark story peering in the background to light hearted humor and some fan service. Think of really getting to know and like the bad guys while the world is conquered and burns (probably). Definitely consider the light novels too.
