About Overlord Novel Volume 2 (Hardcover)

Overlord Novel Volume 2 is written by Kugane Maruyama.

It has been a week since Momonga logged in to his favorite RPG one last time and stranded himself there. Now he leads his guild as the Ainz Ooal Gown overlord. Finding himself in dire need of better information, he travels disguised as an adventurer to the walled city of E-Rantel, with Narberal the battle maid at his side. The pair accept a mission to retrieve medicinal herbs, making for a forest said to be the home of a great and wise beast.

But the sinister influence of a fanatical cabal approaches E-Rantel, and the armor-clad Ainz will face both a ruthless warrior and a legion of the undead!

The Story Continues! Backstory Details!

by -

Just as with volume one, volume two contains many elements that were glossed over in the anime. Clementine is less psycho and more demented battle genius. Future events are properly foreshadowed that were just glossed over. Motivations are mentioned in passing, adding a third dimension. And no, the ranger does not flirt any better on the page than he does in animation style!

Plus, the details they go into Ains's efforts to understand and develop new techniques based upon the local magic system are very impressive. Despite his high level, he above all others realize just how dangerous their lack of information can be.

All in all, I can't help but keep reading at full throttle!

Let the Massacre Begin

by -

Undercover with a new identity Ainz tries to learn more of the new world and raise his renown at the same time. He takes along a member of the Pleides Battle Maids, Narberal Gamma, as a partner and joins the guild. Great fun and excellent action with the typical over the top power of the first novel.

Great Novel!

by

This light novel also came with art like volume 1 did which I really enjoyed! As far as the story, I'm really liking how I get to read about what Ainz's minions are thinking and how loyal they are. The anime kind of glossed over a lot of things, so I like how the novels are being very descriptive (but not overly descriptive) about everything! The only complaint would be that at times it's hard to know who's talking because there are no quotations or "This character said this." But most of the time I understand who's who during the conversation.
