An Impressive Thai Martial Arts Flick

by

This is the film that launched the career of now-international star Tony Jaa. Like Jackie Chan before him, Jaa relies heavily on his own skill and experience as a stunt man, and the film features a frantic, acrobatic style in its fight choreography. However, unlike Chan, Jaa plays the fights straight, often vicious and brutal.

The writing and acting are nothing to write home about, but the pure visual spectacle of the fights are more than enough to make this film one of the best martial arts flicks of its decade.

The DVD also adds some nice extras as well, and is altogether an excellent addition to the collection of any martial arts fan.
