This is a review of the series up until this volume

by -

Unfortunately, NO ONE wants to talk about how devastatingly bad this series has gotten. The first 10 volumes are interesting and the author sets up the story really well. And then, it's like the author has no idea what to do with Saitama so the MC starts disappearing from the narrative. I find it ironic that he's on the cover of this volume, yet you only see him for like 2 pages. One punch man makes the mistake that so many other shonen manga have done in the past: show you filler battles between random characters you've never heard of nor care about...and it goes on for volumes. The author has no idea what to do with the MC so he focuses on newly introduced side characters. I had to push myself to get past the last couple volumes, praying that something interesting would happen.

Response to HW's One Star Review

by -

I felt compelled to leave a review after seeing vol 23 having a single one star review, one it really doesn't deserve. The series starts off with the emphasis on comedic parody, but later shifts to a more story oriented battle series, fleshing out the world, the other heroes, the villains, the underlying mysteries of the series, as well as continuing to deliver stunning fights and great comedy. The best fight scenes in the series occur a few volumes after this one, it only gets better. The complaints ignore the continued quality of the story despite pulling the focus away from Saitama. If you liked the earlier volumes of the series, you'll almost certainly continue to enjoy the series. It's not a perfect series of course, the current monster Human Monster Saga does have some slow parts, but nowhere near as bad as implied.

Very good series

This series is definitely in my top 10 maybe even top 5. The comedy is amazing, the art is even better, and a lot of the side characters are very compelling and interesting.
