An amazing dub for an amazing anime
by Antoine
One Piece has always been and always will be my all-time favorite manga/anime, and when I heard this dub, I knew I had to buy the DVDs. The Funimation crew have really surpassed themselves this time to bring the best dub possible to this legendary series. Every voice actor fulfills their roles perfectly and after only a couple of episodes, I had already forgotten the original Japanese version and dove once again into the amazing world of One Piece. This box set covers the beginning of the series up until the middle of the Baratie arc. There is a lot of content in these 26 episodes and at such an affordable price, they are worth every penny. Although there aren't a lot of bonus features, the two episode commentaries with Mike McFarland and some of the voice actors were extremely enjoyable. All in all, if you already enjoy One Piece, or are looking for a new, action-packed anime that you will never forget, you owe it to yourself to buy this DVD.
Poor anime series

Don't waste your time with this one. It has everything I dislike about anime, bad dialogue, poor artwork, dumb story, etc. Save your money and avoid this set.
Great collection

If you haven't watched one piece this is the set to start with. If your a fan its another chance to experience the beginning of the straw hat crew. Not many extras with this collection, but my favorite extra is the marathon mode. Marathon mode automatically skips the credits and previews and just rolls right into the next episode. The case isn't any bigger than a normal dvd which is good for a collection this size especially if you have a lot of anime or movies.

It plays great! I love One Piece and this collection is easy to navigate and play even on my PS4. I love the story line and I am eagerly awaiting the ordering of the rest of the series. Definitely my favorite series.

Great Product at Great Value
by Bryan
I recommend this series to every one. When it comes to storytelling, One Piece is second to none. While the length of the series can dissuade some from buying it, this set comes at great value with plenty of episodes included to get more than your money's worth. What really blows me away about this set though, is the video quality. The video presentation in this set is beautiful, especially for a series that began airing in 1999. The images are sharp, and the colors are vibrant, like that of a Blu-ray release. I cannot recommend this product enough to those who might be hesitant to start collecting the series.
Hope you have nothing going on for a few months

One Piece is an anime I can't recommend enough to people that like adventure animes. The story of One Piece is massive with each character moving towards their goal together. This collection focuses on the recruitment of the initial Straw Hat Crew. We're shown each characters past so we know their motivations that drive them towards their goal.
The collection is very compact, fitting inside a standard DVD case, which shows thought from FUNimation that they know this is going to become a massive collection. The episode selection is a strange choice as this collection ends during a story arc. Collection 2 is similar in this aspect (I imagine all the collections are like this) as it ends 8 episodes before the "season" is over. I feel like this collection should've gone to episode 30 to include everything in it's arcs but I'm not really going to fault them since the collections will eventually encompass everything.
