About Non Non Biyori Repeat DVD

Non Non Biyori Repeat, the second season of Non Non Biyori, contains episodes 1-12 of the anime directed by Shinya Kawatsura.

Even though there are still only five students who attend the remote Asahigaoka Branch School, each one of the girls already has a lifetime of wonderful experiences in the carefree Japanese countryside.

Some memories may belong to just one person, like Hotaru's recollections of her first day in Asahigaoka before she'd had a chance to meet her new friends. Other memories bring an otherwise sleepy town to life for Komari, Natsumi, Renge, or even Suguru.

From daily life in school, to unforgettable holiday festivities, or even simple adventures like learning how to make okonomiyaki, new adventures are just waiting to be shared as we return to Asahigaoka in NON NON BIYORI REPEAT!

Special Features: Dagashi, Commentaries, Cast Panel Video, Japanese Promos, Clean Opening and Closing Animations.

The Quiet Country Life for Me!

by

When the first season of Non Non Biyori aired in Fall of 2013, I was immediately struck by its warmth and wonder. The series focused upon five students in a small community in rural Japan and followed their everyday lives. It was slice-of-life at its finest, and fans clamored for more--which is exactly what Non Non Biyori Repeat gives us! Aired in 2015 and utilizing the voice cast of the original series, Repeat brings us right back to the village of Asahigaoka and all its charm, inconvenience, and quietude. But there is one immediate twist: rather than just a continuation of the first series, the stories in Repeat run concurrently, its episodes nestling in-between those of season 1. It is a unique and brilliant approach that makes the story material even more cohesive and allows it to shine more brightly. And so, Repeat continues as slice-of-life at its finest! (Also, look forward to some great extras!)

A gem not to be missed

by -

It's rare that I purchase an anime that isn't dubbed in English, but Non Non Biyori is so charming that to miss it would be a colossal mistake. Not only is it beautiful background animation; but, the characters and story are so engaging that I find my jaw sore from smiling so intently by the end of each episode!

Every child, everywhere, should have the experience of growing up as those in Non Non Biyori Repeat. The simplicity of it is its genius. This is truly one of my favorite anime; and, as this season ended, my first thought was please, please keep doing more seasons.

The better of the two seasons

by

If you could only watch one season of Non Non Biyori, this would be the one to pick. The show really hits its stride here, and gets those iyashikei emotional beats of relaxing, nostalgic antics just right.

I actually watched this one first, and saw the original season afterwards. You don't need to see the original season at all to appreciate this one.
