About No. 6 Manga Volume 1

No. 6 1 features story by Atsuko Asano and art by Hinoki Kino.

For Shion, an elite student in the technologically sophisticated city No. 6, life is carefully choreographed: school, study, and the occasional visit with his friend and classmate Safu. One fateful day, however, he takes a misstep, sheltering an injured boy his age from a typhoon. Known only as Rat, this boy is a VC - a fugitive living outside the computerized tapestry of city control - and helping him will throw Shio's life into chaos and start him down a path to discovering the appalling secrets behind the superficial perfection of No. 6.

An intriguing tale of escape

by -

What I like about some good stories is not knowing where the characters will end up, as they discover new paths and twists along the way. The world is in the future where everything is semingly "perfected" by a digital society while those who cannot keep up appearances are shunned into the slums outside the walls. No. 6 does away with the typical hero-centric stories and follows a boy who is intrigued by the rebel nature of a runaway criminal.
The pacing is great, mixing conversations, thoughts and action sequences all in one chapter at some points. There is always something happening that leads into something even bigger, and the newly formed relationship between the main characters leads to some exciting squabbles.

Worth the money

The book came in pristine condition as expected from Right Stuf. As for the story, I went into it not expecting much and I was pleasantly surprised. Things pick up quickly and got interesting in no time. I'm definitely going to buy the next volumes!

A great dystopian!

by -

Reminds me of “The Giver”. I haven’t read the Giver in years but if I remember correctly that was one perfect city while in No. 6 you have a city deemed perfect for all the intelligent people and everyone else on the outskirts. For all those people deemed not smart enough or skilled enough, no one really seems to care. There isn’t any help for the starving people and the government dumps raw sewage there without any guilt. You should also note that this so called perfect city has no justice system and pretty extreme punishments — such as the death penalty for a crime you weren’t even proven guilty of! I also find the two main characters to be interesting. I would also note, as some afraid of rats and mice, I actually love the little rats that follow around Rat, one of the main characters. They’re adorable!

Unexpected series

It is a great 1st volume! I don’t think it is 100% shoujo series, the story is catching so far.

Favorite Sounen-Ai.. My HEART can't TAKEE ITT

by

One of my favorite animes and Manga that I own.
The story is beautiful, the cover art is beautiful, and the inside art is BEAUTIFUL. Sounen-Ai/BL not anything hardcore. I CAN 100% Feel the love tho...but it does take a few volumes to really feel it.. Although it's got romance between 2 men it don't focus on just that.. it's not the main plot of the story at all.. which is nice to see a actual storyline and character development. Also the manga itself Is BEAUTIFUL, GREAT size and the spines are cute in my opinion. I like them on my bookshelf. 100% RECOMMENDED... READDD ITTTT!!!!!
