Better then the TV series

So just finished watching this..
And it's much better then the TV series. The movie can be watched stand alone, without having seen the TV series as the knowledge events is not needed. Other then some character cameos the plot itself is independent.
I was not a fan of the TV series as I thought it was overrated.. the movie however was a pleasant surprise.

Expecting something similar to the series, Zero had an entirely different feel. A look at how connected souls follow each other throughout time, it is very much a interesting love story that shows the viewer where No Game No Life really began.
A fun fantasy epic

No Game No Life the anime relied on clever, yet downright silly characters all mixed with a barrage of fanservice humor. Some people liked how it played out, some people didn't. I'm here to tell you that despite how you feel about the series, this movie is great.
The movie, No Game No Life Zero is a prequel to the series and tells the story of the last survivors of humans scrambling to stay alive while wars rage on amongst the more powerful species to obtain the power to become the ruling god.
With this movie, you'll get great emotional scenes, cute humor and beautiful animation. Seriously some of the best animation I can remember in a long time. This is definitely a great watch!
Same series, but not for all fans

This movie is a completely different show than the show. All the rules are different (actually there are no rules. This is just war), and instead of showing how to take advantage of the rules, this shows how the rules came about in the first place. Also, the two MCs are basically past lives of Sora and Shiro, but imo aren't as good. Still, give this a watch if you're a fan of the main show.
Same board, very different game

If you are at all interested in in how the world of NO GAME NO LIFE came to be, this movie is for you. The main story takes place 100s of years before the series and has a very different vibe to it, while still having the same look and sense of humor of the show. All the things I loved from the series, the art style, the wild colors, and intelligent dialogue are all there plus much more action and drama. Great way to complete your collection.
