Nichijou Manga Volume 1
About Nichijou Manga Volume 1
Nichijou volume 1 features story and art by Keiichi Arawi.
While the title suggests a story of simple, everyday school life, the contents are more the opposite. Set in a strange school where you may see the principal wrestle a deer or a robot’s arm hide a rollcake, the days that transpire through the course of Nichijou are curious and hilarious, if not downright bizzare. However admist all the chaos and comedy Arawi still takes time to share everyday slice of life stories giving readers an insight to modern Japanese youth culture.

Great grate

It's the full spectrum. From Surreal farcical humor on one end, to everyday events made-out to be epic on the other.
This is really nothing but fun, and a pleasure to read.
Highly recommended.
Anything but an ordinary life.

I was a huge fan of the anime this series turned into, and nothing disappoints with the original source material.
The main 'plot' is about four girls of varying degrees of strange. From the hyper Yukko, the stoic Mai, the easily agitated Mio, and the totally not a robot Nano. Add in several side characters that just add to the fun and you've got a great reading experience ahead of you.

A classic for laughter.
by Carson -
When you read manga you usually expect to be brought into a deep complex story. That isn't true here.
Nichijou is the humour filled manga that you can stop and start anywhere and not be confused. Well you may get confused but you will be laughing anyway.
From the classic school humour instantly into an intense action scene Nichijou is sure to bring you laughter and a good experience for any age group.

My Favorite Manga
by Josh -
As an avid fan of the anime, I was really curious to explore the manga. The manga’s breakneck pace is really exhilarating and engaging, including some super funny gags that aren’t in the anime. Can’t recommend it enough.
A great start to Nichijou

This blend of surreal moments that will make you bust up laughing and wholesome interactions between students makes for easy-to-read chapters. The art style is simple and cute but can become more detailed to complement the humor when it needs to. I like that the chapters are somewhat independent so you can open one in any order and still have an absolute joy reading it. Highly recommend for any manga readers :)
I didn't think I'd love this as much as I do

This has easily become one of my favorite manga just because of how easy it is to get into. Each chapter has some great jokes and something to make you smile. Very chill read when I don't feel like getting too involved with a plot. Recommend the anime as well!
Stick With It

Nichijou is a classic absurdist humor series. It follows a large cast of characters as they go about their daily, "ordinary" lives- where "ordinary" is anything but. The chapters are relatively short and independent, more in a comedy sketch type format.
The series as a whole is a 5 out 5, but in my opinion, the first couple of volumes are a little weak, in that there were more "misses" than "hits" in the first volume's jokes/gags. Perhaps what detracted from the experience were the a number of Japanese word play jokes that didn't really translate to English well. Overall, it just felt like it took some time for the author to find his footing. After the first volume or two, it's consistently great, so I'm willing to put them aside in light of the overall experience.
