Excellent

SNAFU combines great art and animation with writing so tight and funny it will hook you instantly if you give it the chance. Hikki is a much more fun and active male lead than the usual fare, and his twisted perspective is the source of much of the humor in the show. The show follows the journey of the cast, starting out more superficial as they first meet, but quickly delves into the interesting dynamics that grow as the characters for more and more complex relationships. Complex isn't a word I get to use often with this anime genre, but SNAFU earns it and then some. The second season builds on the rock solid foundation laid by the first, with even more development, more comedy, and improved art and animation. I highly enjoyed these two seasons and hold out hope that we may see more.

Unfortunately this release is sub only, but this is one of the shows that is worth the annoyance of reading the lines. It's a shame as it would have been a riot of a dub.

Not Exactly What You May Have Expected At First

This is a great twist on the genre's love triangle motif with awesome dialogue that really shows off that the protagonist over-thinks everything and despite sabotaging himself, he grows just like the other characters in the show, especially against or in spite of the two main love interests.

Just like other stories there will be story arcs highlighting each of the characters and their classmates but this is a familiar trope that feels refreshing in the focus on interactions and dialogue.

Minor spoiler alert --> the show ends in the second season with a cliff-hanger that will make you groan and want to know when the next season will be available. I have no idea. I think it was about five or six years between the first and second season and there are video and audio improvements that are I think subtle but some of you may be more sensitive to.
