Pretty good comedy

This series doesn't really have an overarching plot, but even so it's a good read if you enjoy nonsensical comedies. I recommend not bringing the series since the plot can be quite repetitive. With all that said overall this is a great vol 1 to introduce you to story and characters. If you enjoyed this one I highly recommend getting the rest of the series.
This is a gag manga plain and simple, and yet it's more than that

Yokoi wants nothing more than to pay attention in class but . . . enter Seki, the boy who sits next to her. The innovative games he plays during class instead of studying drive Yokoi crazy yet she can't help but be intrigued. As the series progresses, so does Yokoi's involvement. She goes from an annoyed observer to a game thwarter and even sometimes a willing participant. Her efforts to affect the games' outcomes are as enjoyable as watching Seki's games themselves. I never found these two's antics repetitive or boring but eagerly anticipated what they'd do next. The appearance of Seki's family in later volumes is pure joy, and a classmate's misperception of Seki and Yokoi's relationship (imagining them as lovers) were some of my favorite parts of the series. I laughed out loud well reading and even experienced some heartwarming moments involving Seki's little sister. If you're looking for a light read to pass the time with some laughs, this series fits the bill.
