Anything from Urasawa is the best.

Everything about Monster is near perfect. It can be seen in the characters very true to life expressions and the phenomenal setups for story progression. Not a single event is without significance, but it is not easy to figure out and every reveal and turning point leave the reader on edge, dying to see how it will turn out in the end, however sad it will be once the end is reached and there is no more Monster to read. Also, these new versions have awesome designs including color pages.

Monster is one of the greatest manga of all time. Only a few manga I have read make me forget time and send a chill down my back on every page. Naoki Urasawa combines beautiful art with compelling storytelling for one of the most entertaining reads ever. The Perfect edition comes in a 2-in-1 volume format with a wonderful cover, sturdy pages, some awesome color panels and makes a great addition for your shelf. If you're a fan of the Monster anime, a fan of Urasawa or looking for an outstanding mature drama mystery manga then this Perfect Edition is a must have.
Was a Perfect edition really necessary

I love this series and recommend it to anyone with the slightest interest. The only problem I have is the cash grab by viz, instead of just reprinting the original single volumes we get this, and yet still no release for the rest of the anime, which angers me because I own the first box set and will probably never own the whole thing. Buy this if you haven't bought the single volume release, otherwise don't repurchase this release. All Hail Urasawa!!!

The Perfect Edition volumes are very sturdy and the pages are also good quality. With some omnibus prints, the pages will be very weak and the book itself won’t be very strong, but Viz knocked it out of the park with these. Ease of reading and they look beautiful on a shelf. Experiencing Urasawa in any format is amazing, but these 2 in 1s just make it that much better. Must read series and must own printing on Viz’s end.

I have heard so many great things about Monster - from friends to online reviews - so I knew I just had to get it myself. The perfect editions are absolutely beautiful with the quality paper, detailed art, and the few colored pages included. I jumped into the story without ever reading the synopsis and I am glad I did.
“Some lives are worth more than others.” This quote alone had me captivated to see where the manga would go.
The story initially started off slow with the character introductions and story building. Enjoyed the hint of medical terminology and medical background included (I absolutely love neuroscience!) but it quickly picked up with the mystery and psychological suspense. I was at the edge of my seat after I read about a quarter of the volume and just had to know what was going on. I think it is a good start to what will be an awesome manga to continue with.

I started this series not knowing if I would like it or not. And boy did I regret having any doubts, from the very beginning it has you intrigued and wanting to know more. Can’t wait to finish the series!
