Get it while they have it

    by -

I preordered this set since I didn't have the other arcs of 2nd season before they went out of print and got it a day early! Very quick shipping on RightStuf's behalf, but this isn't about the shipping.

I haven't put the discs in to see what the visuals look like and what the audio sounds like, but they shouldn't be different from the individual sets that I had. The box art is beautiful, though! Without a doubt, the best looking one I've gotten thus far.

The franchise is great and the series is great. The voice acting is great and I strongly recommend this series. Who cares if it doesn't have a dub because most of the story is in dialogue, yet the characters aren't static during their delivery. Overall, definitely worth the purchase if you have the funds!

    Great Set

Box looks and feels great. Glad I was able to pick up the second season as I didn't get into the series until after the older individual arc sets went out of print. Although it's on the expensive side, if you're a regular Aniplex buyer, like myself, then it shouldn't come as a surprise. Glad I can own this amazing series on Blu Ray.

    A Must Have For Fans

    by -

A brilliant anime. Although it is expensive, it is a bit cheaper then buying the now out of print individual sets in the second season. The slight downside is that you get none of the little goodies that the individual sets had.

The box containing the blu-rays is solid. The artwork on the box looks nice. The anime itself looks wonderful when watching it. The sound is great.

One complaint that I would have (other than the blow that it did to my wallet) is that Hanamonogatari is out of order in the anime release. It should be the last one watched if keeping to the airing order. If you pay attention to the little skits that the Araragi sister's do at the end of each episode then it is obvious. They instead put it after Kabukimonogatari which is how the book order went.

All in all I do love this series and I am glad to own this set. A must buy if you missed the smaller sets like I did.

    Very happy just as advertised

I ended up buying this after finding out a lot of the second season is out of print. I'm very happy with it came in a nice box with very nice art on the cover. There aren't any special art books or stuff like that unfortunately but if you like monogatari and you can afford it its pretty good especially considering the other options are either more expensive or hard to find for North America region.

Another great box set from Aniplex

    by -

This 28-episode set is better than "Bakemonogatari". While you still have the witty and clever dialog throughout, the usual colorful art style by the production studio, and the eye catching bright and dark visuals as in the other series. Shinobu stands out here with more action, actually communicates plenty, and showcases a deeper connection to Araragi than imagined. This anime also featured a change of pace, having other characters portrayed as the main protagonist with Araragi making only a cameo appearance in some episodes...very different.

My only negative besides the price tag, is that I had to hit the pause button at times, as the dialog/subtitles flashed by very quickly. Slightly annoying, but remembering it's the dialog that has this show so fun/appealing in the first place.

I like this series as it deals with the occult, contains a flamboyant animation style, and enjoy a main character with rejuvenation powers combined with an obtrusive lolicon complex for laughs.
