The final part of Gundam origins films.

The pros
Great history in episode 6
More Char and great MS fight scene´s in episode 5
Great price!
A great view of political status of Zeon before the one year war!
The "cons"
Only two episode´s
Episode 6 is all focus in a political game (is fun to see the fact´s but some people don´t like that theme...so for them can be a "problem")
In some fact´s in episode five we return for the batle of Loun happened in episode 1 in other hand has many new things happen! (honesty you will have a deja´vu sensation in first five minute´s!, after that the problem "gone", whif other´s views of the same batle) .

A wonderful set-up for the original series.

*Sorry: No Spoilers*
While only two episodes, Chronicle of Loum does a masterful of setting the stage for the original Gundam series.
Episode 5 focuses on setting up the Battle of Loum, the first big battle of the One Year War, the war in the original series. Episode 6 focuses on the battle itself as well as the fallout how the Federation and Zeon aim to continue the war.
There is much less Char and Sayla in these two episodes as most of the focus of the last two episodes is on the Zabi Family.
One thing these two volumes do masterfully to link to the original series is to use the music from the original. The music really makes it feel like this origin anime was a part of the original show all along.
Overall: If you are a Universal Century fan, then this is required viewing.
If you ever wanted to get into the original series, then this prequel is the perfect launching point for you.

Action, action, action!

This is not reinventing MS Gundam but adding more to its backstory.
If you want to know the WHY of Char, this mini-series is a must. (My conclusion: Char is a bigger sociopath than I previously thought!) If you're expecting a complete adaptation of the the manga this was adapted from, I'm sorry but that's not happening. I don't know that they ever intended to adapt MSG Origin in its entirety for anime. The manga's length may work against anime adaptation.
In the meantime, IF you look UC Gundam AND the storyline of Char and Amuro in particular, this is a good disc to pick up. It has some of the best looking Gundam animated action in a long while (it looks mostly hand-drawn, more limited CG enhancement) and another strong performance by the longtime Japanese VA of Char, one of anime's treasures. The dub actor was excellent, too, but let's face it -- most of the longtime fans are watching for the original Char.
