The year is Cosmic Era 73. The Bloody Valentine War, fought between the PLANTS space colonies and the nations of the Atlantic Federation, has ended and an uneasy truce has settled upon the Earth sphere. With the signing of the Junius Seven Treaty, the world's soldiers have left the battlefield and the grizzly sights of war behind. Many who fought now seek peace and refuge in the shelter of civilian life.

But one boy, Shin Asuka, is finding that incredibly hard. A coordinator who lost his entire family during the Battle of Orb, he now fights with ZAFT in one of their newest machines, the Impulse Gundam. Of course, ZAFT is only developing these machines for defensive applications - or so they claim - but when a group of Federation operatives steal some of these prototype machines, the world is once again plunged towards war.

Fantastic Box Set - this is the only way to get original dub, though it's still in SD

by -

The set for GSD fans!

Artbook looks and feels great. Interview is a nice add.

The entire 51 episode series comes in 2 versions. The HD remaster taking the 4:3 video, and modified for 16:9. Some scenes were reanimated. This is a NEW DUB, not Bang Zoom original!

In SD, the 4:3 presentation with the original Bang Zoom dub. Give age and digital animation, it doesn't look great, but it is better than DVD given lower compression.

All "compilation" films are here, and for the first time in NA, we get the STARGAZER OVA (dubbed only with the NEW cast).

My only complaints are the price and box size. Given the amount of content, including the entirety of the series in SD W/ the original dub, I quickly got over the price, especially as I know there will be a less expensive complete set (NO Bang Zoom dub) later.

For the box, it is oversized. I will get over this as I already own the previous TRSI Gundam Ultimate boxes.

Highly recommended.

Great follow up to the Seed ultra edition!

by -

The ultra edition for Destiny is basically identical to the ultra edition for Seed, so if you already have that one you know what to expect as far as the disc and case artwork as well as the artbook.

Destiny HD version includes the new dub cast. As of this writing I have watched the first 3 discs (15 episodes) and the dub script and cast performances are very good in my opinion. If you are a fan of the original Ocean dubs, I can understand your disappointment in that cast not returning. However I still feel the new dub captures the story and characters of the Cosmic Era world very well, and I did not expect to enjoy the new dub as much as I did.

I give this set 4 stars because for the price, I would have preferred some additional physical extras besides the art book. Although it's great that they included the Stargazer OVA. If you are a fan of Seed Destiny, I think you will be pleased with the presentation and content here.

Another Exceptional Collector's Ultra Edition Set

by -

Gundam SEED Destiny Collector’s Ultra Edition is an exceptional set for a fan that likes an appreciate Gundam SEED Destiny despite the hate on series.

Got it for the price of 225 USD but considering all the content you get; this set is insanely cheap compare to another anime box set of the same price. 50ep remastered, 50ep SD, 1 OVA, 3 Movie Summary, Stargazer, Director interview, AMV concept video of all beautiful soundtrack, Seed theater, PV video, and clean OP and ED

Comparing this box set to the 1st box set, it has the same height but much bulkier. Both has a towering height and consumes a lot of space compare to other anime box set just like a Gundam compare to a human. It’s also great to see both box sets in display together just like Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice in a team.

The new dub is great in my opinion just like the old
2 things I’m disappointed on English audio is not using Vestige on episode 39 and using a dub version of Field of Hope for episode 7 and 50.

Great series! Great collection!

Super happy with my purchase. This collection is perfect and I love this series! The box looks awesome on my shelf and the art book is great quality. It’s a little pricey, but worth it for such a great series. The new English dub is actually really good as well!

HOLY CATS! what an incredible, I mean INCREDIBLE Remaster and Dub!

by -

OH Man! This show! it always surprises me just How Good it is. But it defiantly does not get enough credit! This is a Fantastic Remaster and Dub! The New Cast is Phenomenal! I can’t sing enough Praises in just 1000 characters. Now, the show is Not without fault. Some scenes are still flashback heavy, but I will give that a Pass, this show is hard to follow at times. and the flashbacks play an important role in the Story telling and reconvening emotions. In which this Show is RIFE with Extreme emotions! It really puts you in the Mindset of Certain Characters. I had was some of the scenes of slow motion were played at a normal speed and its fast. almost too fast, you can't tell what's going on. My Main Gripe is the same as The New Dub of Seed. Its the Pronunciation of a Few Names Overall, I'd Say 9 out of 10 Highly recommend the sequel! But watch Gundam Seed First.
