An excellent condensed version of the TV series.

Much like Zeta Gundam's "A New Translation," this is a film trilogy that covers the original Mobile Suit Gundam TV series. There are some minor differences between this and the TV series, but unlike A New Translation, the ending and what happens is largely the same.

This is definitely a worthy purchase if you enjoy a great war story, great characters, and giant mecha. The story of Amuro Ray and the White Base is one of legend, and seeing how they ultimately survive is a tale worth learning.

Dreams come true

Finally made its way to blu-ray. Great transfer, looks gorgeous. A beautiful collection of the series that started it all. A must own for any gundam fan

A great Trilogy.

I´m a huge fan of the original series, but I believe this is the best way to introduce the new generations to the original show. It just look great! The editing of the series is very good too.
A must own. Excelente.

A faster way to experience Gundam 0079

Although some of my favorite parts of Gundam were cut from these films, they are still amazing in their own right. The closing songs are some of my favorites.

If you are looking to start into the Gundam granchise, this is the release you should get.

This was my introduction to the Gundam Universe and my first Rightstuf product. The image quality is outstanding and it is in my opinion the best way to start Gundam as a franchise. I was so impressed with the HD transfer that at times you forget is a 80s show. Just would like to point out that on this release there is no English Dub and the subtitles are yellow colored. Please Give Gundam trilogy a chance and you will get hooked to the real robot genre!

A great start to one of the greatest sci-fi worlds ever!

Mobile Suit Gundam is a tightly paced war story that follows inexperienced soldiers (mostly children) from their peaceful space colony to the front lines of humanity's most destructive war ever. It broke new ground in animation & science fiction, becoming a global phenomenon.

The films’ shorter runtime leads to several great moments & much of the subtle character development that Gundam relishes in being lost. However, the movies make a point to introduce some important concepts much earlier than in the series, making it a tradeoff between thematic presentation and character depth.
My only major issue with this set is that it opts to use the audio mix for the 1999 re-release of the trilogy rather than the original theatrical audio. For anyone who may have seen the films prior to this, the dialogue and music may be different than you remember.

If you aren’t ready to commit to a 42 episode TV series, this is the perfect entry into the world of Gundam.
