About Mobile Suit Gundam AGE Collection 1 DVD

Mobile Suit Gundam AGE Collection 1 contains episodes 1-28.

Three destinies will form history...

Hundreds of years have passed since the space colonies were settled and the space age began. The wars that were once fought for control of the Earth Sphere had ended, and it seemed that an era of peace had arrived. But this fleeting peace has now collapsed. In the year A.G. (Advanced Generation) 101, the space colony Angel is attacked and destroyed by a mysterious "UE (Unknown Enemy)" that suddenly appears. This disaster, which produces many casualties, is later known as "The Day Angel Fell." The UE will continue to threaten the people of the Earth Sphere for many years to come.

Tired of the same-old-same-old Gundam? Give this one a try.

So the first thing you notice is that the art style is completely different from anything that's been done before, and by all accounts it helps breathe new life into the Gundam franchise. Another great point about this series is it's set over 100 years, starting when the grandfather is a kid and ending with his grandson. Unlike other Gundam shows where it straight rips off 0079, Zeta, and ZZ, the only similarities are in the overall designs of the AGE-1, Age-2, and AGE-3, allowing them to be their own machines while invoking the fond memories of the original three. A good voice cast and fitting background music, it's pleasant to listen to regardless of whether it's in English or Japanese with subtitles. If you're unfamiliar with the Gundam franchise this is a good entry into the franchise as well as just a solid series.
