Three destinies will form history...

Hundreds of years have passed since the space colonies were settled and the space age began. (Advanced Generation) 101, the space colony Angel is attacked and destroyed by a mysterious "UE (Unknown Enemy)" that suddenly appears. This disaster, which produces many casualties, is later known as "The Day Angel Fell." The UE will continue to threaten the people of the Earth Sphere for many years to come.

A tale about a war transcending generations!

by

Gundam Age has the "problem" to be in their "four" arc story, make any of their arc´s unique in style and storytelling!
It´s a love and hate series and all depend´s of your taste!
This pack cover the "origins"/Flit arc and Asemu arc
The Flit Arc has a child tone, and using the normal theme´s of gundam in a must light tone! (in resume it´s a boy view of conflict)
The Asemu arc is more a teen arc, focus more in action, it´s my personal preferred arc in this series! (in resume it´s a tale of a boy, son of legendary hero, trying to run of his father legend!)
That´s a not a normal tale of gundam, but if you look something diferent in gundam francise and whif a complete diferent storytelling that´s can be a tale you will buy happy!
If you expect a "normal" tale of gundam look Unicorn...you will not found that in this series!

I am really enjoying Gundam Age. It has an interesting multi-generational plot and so far I have been able to watch it with my daughters. In this first set, the plot is similar in certain beats to the original but it has modern HD animation anymore contemporary aesthetics. I am a Gundam geek and I certainly approve of it. I cannot wait to begin the second set.

Thanks sunrise and rightstuf for making this happen

What I liked about Gundam Age Collection 1
1. In this collection there was a lot of action with all the battles it contained.
2. The animation and how pretty the colors were looked stunning to me at 1080p and more so when I upscaled it to 4K resolution.
3. The best thing about this collection is there were a total of 28 episode in it and all of them were English dubbed.

What I didn't like about it.
1. The main thing that I hated it always would start in Japanese audio so before I selected play all I would always have to select setup at the menu and chose English audio before I selected the play all option.
2. I would have liked some advertisement trailer for collection 2 to watch but oh well.

Heard mixed reviews of the anime, but I am 10/10 impressed!

A story told across 3 generations. In theory, the idea is possible to tell a war across 100 years, and after watching Gundam AGE, it is completely possible! They pulled it off very well, and after watching both Part 1 and Part 2, I am really glad to be a Gundam fan.

The Worst Show in the Franchise

by

Where once we thought that SEED Destiny was the bottom of the barrel, Gundam AGE proves that even a dumpster fire can be outdone by a bigger fire in a bigger dumpster.

This series began life as an original JRPG pitched by Level-5 to the execs at Sunrise. For some reason, it was developed into a 50ep television series as written by Akihiro Hino. The show has pacing problems galore, big drops in quality and lots of off-model animation, and the entire back half of the series (when Kio becomes the POV character) is nonsensical and amateur.

Don't bother with this series. Go watch 00 or some UC instead.

A generational journey

So, as a follower of the Gundam franchise, I was curious how this would work of following a multi-generational era of a timeline crammed down into one series. Kinda like cramming 30 years of the Universal Century into one show series.

While I think this would be a unique idea, it just doesn't sit well. You skip a lot of fleshing out for many of the side characters, and then it just seems to stop, and skips to the next generation of pilots. You just kinda wanted more and does not feel fulfilling.

To add to that, you have to learn side characters on the fly and it doesn't appeal to the desires of story telling.

With that said, if you want to introduce some young kids to the Gundam franchise, this would be a good series to start out with. Especially with the different Gundam suits as the series progresses.
