Watching Over Myths and Legends
by MKY -
Arata and company work in 'Division Zero', one of 37 district teams that keep tabs on Angels, Fairies, Demons, Yokai, Tengus, Pixies, Oni, a Nekomato, a Vampire, and even an Aztec God named Huehuecoyote.
While the series story is decent, and Arata's character sort of reminds of "Natsume's Book of Friends" with a certain communication skill, and a Nekomato that can also transform into a large cat, the anime quality of the legendary creatures fell short of expectations for a series produced in 2019 to me.
I would still recommend "Mushi-Shi", "Natsume's Book of Friends", and "The Morose Mononokean" as better choices over "Midnight Occult Civil Servants" after having seen all of these shows. It's not a bad series, but it's not a standout series either, so add this title to your collection mainly if your a huge fan of the supernatural genre.
