About Medaka Box Abnormal Blu-ray

This Medaka Box Abnormal complete collection contains episodes 1-12.

What started as a simple assistance program has escalated insanely out of control. Medaka Kurokami now finds herself exposed as something far more than human, but that's only the beginning of a new series of shocking revelations that lead towards a dark secret plan that not even the unbelievable power of her War God Mode may be able to withstand.

Still, Medaka's proving to be good at thinking outside of the box, and if she needs the full backing of every hidden resource of the Student Council to meet the challenge, then that's what she's going to get. Even the abnormal ones!

Exposition: The Anime

by -

I rented the first part of this series from my local library and I thought the first 7 episodes were fine. The plot of Medaka helping fellow students via a suggestion box at her school had potential. Then it quickly went downhill with the clichéd “super powered students vying for the top spot” story. It was also really mean spirited. I should have learned my lesson and let it be.

Season 2 (aka Medaka Box Abnormal) continues this trend and dumps a ton of exposition with each episode. Every fight scene has running commentary from the side characters, explaining every move, counter-move, and backstory of each person. Shut up and show me the fight! After all the fights (a-la Game of Death style), it has one of the worst endings in recent memory. It is clear they ran out of money and they plop a villain into to story we have never seen before. Skip this anime.
