Love is an Illusion Manhwa Volume 1

I read half away through this and I honestly had to stop. I felt gross of just having it in my manga collection. The cover is very miss leading. I thought I was going to be this wholesome Alpha and Omega type of thing and be super adorable. Nope,it was uncomfortable and just poorly written,I couldn’t connect with the characters at all. And plus TW there is a lot of very uncomfortable amounts of the main guy AKA the alaph;throwing himself on the love interest. Like there’s no clear line of consent in this with any sexual activity. It just made me very uncomfortable. Plus I felt the characters weren’t developed well either;very bland in my opinion. I don’t recommend to read this. They’re better Alaph and Omage content somewhere else. Only one thing I enjoyed out of this was the art;and that was it.

If you love omegaverse BL, this is an outstanding choice. Love is an Illusion is the most well known omegaverse manhwa because of great story telling, beautiful art, and character development that happens throughout the story.

The omega finds out he's an omega late in life in the worst possible way, by going into his first heat at a party full of strangers. Rather than something horrific happening, he's rescued by an ill tempered alpha that takes care of him and it starts their whole relationship. They're both jerks, but that's what makes it so compelling as they navigate what's growing between them.

This a good wholesome omegaverse manhwa -not manga- if you are familiar with the omegaverse and all the tropes that go along with it you will know what you are getting into when reading this manhwa. You know the typical right, but this is an amazing one I read it like 6 times I bought it and preordered the others. Top tier. If you are not an avid reader of omegaverse don’t read and leave bad reviews because the book makes you feel uncomfortable. It’s omegaverse fictional universe

This is a mixed review. As an ABO BL title, there's going to be a certain amount of license given for adult logic and hijinks. But that doesn't excuse every offense in the writing. I can honestly see how this could be triggering to people who've had bad experiences. Consent is only given the vaguest of recognition, pretty much everything comes down to hormones; if you're assaulted then oh well, alphas will be alphas, that's unfortunate. While protesting the assault, our late-bloomer omega gets told he actually likes it, which is troubling.
Yet. I can't say it's not compelling to see where this goes. The characters are being terrible to each other, but at least some note is given? I am curious to how this ends, as long as it doesn't take too long to do so. It's frankly more concerning than sexy watching this all go down as the focal pair get fleshed out as characters. Yet I am watching.

Beware: this manhwa may not be what you think because of the title or because of the cover. Others have found it misleading so read at your own risk. ;)

Love the lovely cover and the book is pretty big. Love is an Illusion sounds like...fake? Well, the story started rough and wrong between our alpha and omega, but keep in mind when you put an alpha and omega together in one room when in heat, love is not needed to lead to a mistake. Worst, our omega thought he was an alpha all his life till he found out in the worst possible way leading to not one mistake but two and more, which leads to an unpleasant development between our alpha and omega leads.

The storyline may start out unpleasant but keep in mind this is just the beginning. I'm looking forward to the characters development and their interactions along the way. The drawing is nice, the chibi facial drawing is cute, and the story is interesting if you excuse the negativity of the story plot.
