Ratings & Reviews
Should you Love Hina?
by Lee -
Love Hina, in many respects, is considered a classic. It has its ups and downs as a series but for the most part was enjoyable. The quirky situations and random configuration of characters makes for some fun situations but the characters themselves leave you wanting more. If you want a story with a rock solid plot and lovable characters you may want to look elsewhere. The characters left you wanting more in regards to development and in some cases characters were too ridiculous that it was hard to relate too.
Overall, if you are looking for a fun comedy to pass the time stick around but if you are wanting strong characters and a strong story you might want to try elsewhere. Side note: Series has strong similarities to Nisekoi.
Love is in the air...maybe

Love Hina is one of the typical Harem comedies that feature an awkward male lead surrounded by larger than life female characters. Overall this series is about average many of its running gags have become somewhat cliché over the years as many anime series have repeated this formula some with success, while others dismal failures. Love Hina falls somewhat in between with just enough laughs and story to keep you interested but nothing that is completely riveting.
Better to read the Manga instead.
As someone who's loved the series since it first started coming out. Even I can't help but say that it has aged quite a bit. And there are tons of Harem anime out there now so it won't feel as special as it used too. That being said, I feel the manga for Love Hina still has a bit more care and comedy put into it that this anime, at time, removes to add unnecessary drama.
If you want to know why this was such a series that people loved in the early 2000s, I do recommend giving the manga a try. Though I will say pass up the anime, as age hasn't done it any favors.
Classic Harem Anime, but no OVAs
One of my favorite anime in 2002. If you haven't already watch this series, give it a shot. It's not as crazy with the fanservice compare to the current Harem anime now, but it's good enough with some great comedic relief.
Would of given this 4 stars since the series was good for its time, but because it's the complete series, it doesn't have the Winter, Summer and Love Hina Again OVAs so it gets a lower rating. Bandai released the Perfect Collection with the TV series and OVAs a long time ago, so if you're lucky enough to find it for a decent price, get that instead. Or better off waiting for Funimation to release a Perfect Collection...if they ever decide to that is.
