Lord Marksman and Vanadis: Does not reach it's full potential

Lord Marksman and Vanadis shows much potential in the beginning, but it eventually suffers from a weak villian and anticlimatic ending. While it has a unique fantasy setting and intelligent protagonists, ultimately the antagonists are the usual cliche villains you would find in many other anime. With the escalating conflict in the series, the ending does not meet the expectations the series was building to. With it also being a 13 episode series, there is still some dangling threads that do not get resolved. Whether there is a second season remains to be seen, but it was disappointing how the whole story was not completely wrapped up. People will be sure to find great characters and battles, just lower your expectation when it comes to the villains.

I enjoyed the story

A Master Archer & War Maidens, don't cross them!

I personally loved the series. The series was engaging and the way they showed military displays hearkens back to old war films using Western Chess-like figures to indicate war movements. The series may seem to drag in places, but there were lulls in feudal campaigns that went unrecorded because the lulls took away from most any story record. I think this wasn't dull; so much as a honest look at war campaigns and the ugly truths hidden from European feudal war history.
