Another great addition to your bookshelf. This adventure is new and yet it almost makes me nostalgic of older fantasy stories/movies. The pacing is good and the story is constantly moving. Also contains great character interaction thru out the book.
This is another great addition to your bookshelf.

This is the story of a princess and her knight after they flee her destroyed kingdom.
Let's start with the good. Inez and Lala were great characters and a lot of fun, I just wish there was more of them in the book. The setting is fairly dark and gives you a good feel for how the gritty story progresses. The ending was nice too- it is one of those that will undoubtedly make you smile.
Unfortunately, the prose reads stiff, causing the world to feel lifeless. Inez and Lala were great as I mentioned, but most of the other characters are dull cliches. The antagonist in particular is the mustache-twirling type that will make you roll your eyes. The first half of the book was paced rather poorly too; I think some of those early chapters needed additional dialogue to flesh out the story and certain characters to make me care more.
Overall this was an okay standalone book. You could do a lot worse than this...but you could certainly do a lot better too.
