Where the Anime Ends

by -

This is the last volume to be covered by the anime, though not entirely; just the first couple of chapters. Aside from its ending, the anime adaptation is pretty exact, so if you want to use it as a supplement and still witness the rest of the story, a habit I picked up from Magi, this volume would be the one to start with.

For those who want to pick up where the anime ends

by -

This is another great entry into this amazing manga series and this volume is a great starting point for anybody who is fresh off of the anime adaptation. In this volume the ending is different from the anime and it creates big mysteries concerning the world and characters with its unadapted chapters.

Really important themes

by -

The plot thickens with every volume, and the sense of mystery that builds throughout this story is extremely compelling. This volume in particular also tackles some heavy topics that are really important; if you have these gems that are essentially immortal and live their eternities trying to stay busy and find their purpose, you can't ignore the existential struggles they are bound to have. The slightly bleak exploration of themes like loneliness and listlessness really adds a lot of depth to the characters, their relationships, and to the overarching story.
