A Joy to Read
by Rachael S -
Another action packed story that tugs at the heart strings. I've loved this series from the start and this lives up to expectations.
Character growth and plot thickening ensues

Following the events of volume 3, this next installment really highlights the character growth of our protagonist Phos. This volume also introduces a really interesting mystery element that adds greatly to the sense of tension both internally within Phos and how they perceive the larger community of gems.
Calm before the storm

In this volume we get to see Phos adapting to her new arms. Will they help her in the battles to come or will she continue to be a burden to the rest of the gems? I think it is just as important to have calming moments in a battle series to give the reader a break and to develop the characters more and that is what this volume does well.
