Slice-of-life? High-school? Don't miss this!

by -

This is about Shoko Komi, your average high school girl, surrounded by friends, who...wait. What? Komi has zero friends? She looks down on everyone around her, and won't even deign to acknowledge even a simple hello? No one can get close to her?

Komi is beyond shy. She wants to talk to people, to make friends, but when she tries, she freezes, and nothing comes out. And that makes it worse, because people make assumptions about why she won't talk. And they idolize her for it. She, is the queen.

Tadano, completely average, sits next to Komi in class (which earns him death glares), and is the first person to ever figure out that Komi can't communicate.
She can write though.
When Tadano finds out that Komi's goal is to make 100 friends, he sums up the story-

"Then I'll be your friend, and help you make 99 more!"

When I heard Viz had picked this up for publication, I was really happy. Like slice-of-life? Slow, high school romance? Don't miss this chance.

Best New Manga of the Year

One of the funniest, most adorable manga I've read in a while. Komi gets herself in awkward situations I think we can all relate to. Actually bummed at having to wait for the next volume!
