Slice-of-life? High-school? Don't miss this!

by -

This is about Shoko Komi, your average high school girl, surrounded by friends, who...wait. What? Komi has zero friends? She looks down on everyone around her, and won't even deign to acknowledge even a simple hello? No one can get close to her?

Wrong.

Komi is beyond shy. She wants to talk to people, to make friends, but when she tries, she freezes, and nothing comes out. And that makes it worse, because people make assumptions about why she won't talk. And they idolize her for it. She, is the queen.

Tadano, completely average, sits next to Komi in class (which earns him death glares), and is the first person to ever figure out that Komi can't communicate.
She can write though.
When Tadano finds out that Komi's goal is to make 100 friends, he sums up the story-

"Then I'll be your friend, and help you make 99 more!"

When I heard Viz had picked this up for publication, I was really happy. Like slice-of-life? Slow, high school romance? Don't miss this chance.

Best New Manga of the Year

by

One of the funniest, most adorable manga I've read in a while. Komi gets herself in awkward situations I think we can all relate to. Actually bummed at having to wait for the next volume!

Just buy it already

Fast and secure shipping. Hilarious manga. This manga gets better with every chapter. All around good characters and Komi is top tier waifu. Highly recommend this manga. Hopefully it gets an anime adaptation. I bought all three of the current volumes but I've only had time to read the first one. Will keep the reviews going as I read the next volumes. :)

Funny and Heartwarming Comedy

by -

Great comedy/slice-of-life manga that is presented in a funny, short skit format. Looking past the comedy, it is very nice and heartwarming with its story of a girl (Komi) who is socially awkward and simply wants to make friends. This is a great pick up if you choose to do so (which you should).

How to Kom-municate?

by

I finally got my hands on this series and I love the art style most of all!
The story is great in terms of plot set-up for the first manga and humor. A socially-awkward girl having to face up to her fears to meet her dream goal is a perfect way to get you to root for her while hilarity ensues. There were some "references" and "jokes" that do warrant this for older teens, and while it's not my personal cup of tea, I still think it blends well enough for the story.
So, whoever likes high-school/slice-of-life comedy-y'all gotta read this!

How can one man help a queen when he nothing more then average.

by

This the story of a girl who cannot speak to anyone, Komi, and a boy who becomes her first friend, Tadano, that tries to make more friends for her even though his communication skills are not the greatest. Very wholesome will continue the story.

This is the most wholesome story you will ever read. Loveable, relatable characters and hilarious moments. This series has made it's way to my favorite list. I have been reading it during my lunch breaks and catch myself actually laughing out loud. If you enjoy slice of life or just comedy in general pick this up, you won't regret it.
