Existential and romantic problems will have to wait though, as the Guana step up their attacks and a virtual coup d'état threatens to throw Sidonia's leadership into chaos, while even darker forces stir within.

Ratings & Reviews
A Decent Box Set

Hopefully this review can offer some details as to what kind of content is in this box set.
The season 1 compilation movie is basically a recap of the first season with some new scenes and redone sound effects. It does an okay job of recapping the first season, but I think its true value lies in the redone sound effects. The firing of Sidonia's main particle cannon gave me chills. It should be noted that the movie only has Japanese audio and English subtitles.
The special features are a bit lacking compared to the first season's release. You get trailers, teasers, clean opening and ending animations, the on air version of Episode 12, and the Blame! trailer that appears in the season proper. Alas, no behind the scenes content in this release.
The 24-page booklet is an episode guide that contains a summary for each of the 12 episodes. There are also comparison overviews for Episodes 1-10 showing the new angles and when they occur.
The art cards and poster are self-explanatory.

An excellent purchase for fans of the first season with a bunch of goodies to go with it.
Still a good purchase for those who have not seen the first season as it comes with the movie version of the first season as a recap.
