Prepared me for the Winter Olympics

I bought this series as I am a fan of the mangaka's previous work, Tramps Like Us, and I was not disappointed. The female lead is a young adult in her productive working years. She does not portray the damsel in distress image, despite her petit appearances and pre-existing medical conditions. The first volume does an excellent job at introducing the wide assortment of characters at a nice pace. Kodansha Comics is also nice enough to provide an extensive translation notes section that includes your basic information but also terminology unique to ice skating!
Charming

I personally liked the read. I thought it was sweet and charming overall. I did think it was going to be a bit funnier, but maybe that is just because I am used to watching rom-coms as anime and not manga. The main protagonist is cute and mature (which is a creative mix of characteristics I do not usually see in female characters). I do hope that the characters develop a little more as the story goes on, because for now they are all pretty much one dimensional. Overall, good read if you like rom-coms and sports themed storytelling.
