Kiss Him Not Me Manga Volume 1
About Kiss Him Not Me Manga Volume 1
Kiss Him, Not Me 1 features story and art by JUNKO.
Hi there! My name is Serinuma Kae. I'm the kind of girl who loves checking out boys and fantasizing about them getting friendly (and more) with each other - I'm what you might call a fujoshi. One day, my beloved (yes, he's an anime character) died, and the shock of it all was more than I could have ever prepared for! My grief over his passing resulted in some ridiculous weight-loss!
And you won't believe what happened next! Soon after my change, the four most divinely gorgeous boys in my school asked me out on dates! I accepted them all, and you'd think I'd be happy with my sudden popularity, but the truth is, my heart only yearns for a prince to be next to his prince. Ahh, yes, boys, I'd much prefer that you turn your affections elsewhere and kiss him, not me!

Cute & Silly

Some impossible things happen (sudden weight loss, four guys liking the same girl, four guys on a date with one girl!? XD), but I enjoyed it. Simple story, but adorable people! I like Kae's otaku personality but sorta sad we don't see much BL daydreaming. Love the mangaka's style! Kae has such a beautiful face! And the guys have nice unique faces too~ My fave guy is the senpai. > w> Looking toward to the rest of the story. Sad that none of Junko's BL is published in English.

As a fan of JUNKO's BL work, I was very excited to find her working on a shojo manga, and as far as my expectations went, she did not disappoint.
I deeply enjoyed Serinuma. I identified with a few aspects of her "fangirling" and that made my experience with this series more delightful. I do hope that as a character she develops past the stereotype (although, Serinuma did show different sides of her personality towards the end of the series), but the same thing goes for every other character. They all appear to be one note. Of course, this is only the first volume, so I don't expect monumental character growth to happen, especially in such a light series, but I will be looking to see it in the volumes that follow.
Kiss Him, Not Me is a comedy that if you don't take too seriously, you will enjoy more.
So cute

This manga ugh you can't stop reading after the first chapter. It reminds me of Wallflower in some aspects. She's always very well drawn with the rest of the cast of characters, so the plot is really in the flow of things. I warn you once you start reading you'll never stop.
Amazing.

This is a great starter yaoi. While it is mostly a reverse harem it definitely has some moments. It is very cutesy and doesn't really have much of a plot in the beginning like most slice of life mangas. Eventually things do happen though and the way it goes from nothing happening to everything happening kind of toys with your emotions. Also when I ordered it, the manga was in great condition and I couldn't see any kinks or bends in it.
Guilty Pleasure

I first heard of the manga when I saw the anime on the FUNimation app. I thought the first episode was cute even though very unrealistic lol.
The only thing bad I have to say about the first volume just like the first ep of the anime that it felt super shallow that you have to be thin to be beautiful and loved which was heartbreaking to see but hey that is Japan for ya in there stories lol.
Can’t wait to read the next volume.
Great series to jump into

After watching the anime, I wanted to know what happens next! Once I started it, I couldn't put it down and read all 14 mangas in a weekend. It's about an otaku who loves bl and ends up having a huge transformation when her favorite character dies off in a series she watches. Once she goes back to school, everyone is shocked and 4 guys want to date her (eventually more are introduced). The story basically follows this path most of the way up until closer to the end of the series. I do kinda wish there was more at the very end of what they all were up to/ended up but it was still a good ending.
Just a basic review of the first volume ^^

Kiss him not me is a very interesting first volume, first of all it is a reverse harem, a new genre I’ve yet to explore. Kiss him not me deals with a fat otaku girl who suddenly looses weight after not eating for days. After she looses all that weight all the boys in the school fall in love with her beauty. That’s the basic synopsis of volume one, it was a very entertaining manga volume, and I like series like that. It made me laugh out loud and it made me feel good, I would recommend it if you want a feels good manga, and something different.
Comedic Tale of BL lovers everywhere

Okay I have to admit I wasn't sure about this when I found it. It sounded more like a half hearted attempt at breaking into a shojo manga area that it just didn't belong. HOWEVER that being said......I absolutely 100% got smacked in the face with how good this actually is!
Its fun its funny and it has all the crazy things we do as BL lovers in it. I laughed so hard at some of the parts it was just way to relatable and funny. I also really enjoy the art. As someone that is not a fan of a lot of your 'classic' art styles I was surprised to find that this almost has a mix of shojo AND BL manga style to it and I really enjoy it. I would totally recommend this to fellow BL addicts that want something cute, light and fun with a shojo twist...or is that a BL twist *wink wink* Either way I know that my shelf will soon have all these volumes on it and I will be reading it over again soon!
