There is a prequel volume to this series, but it's not wholely necessary to understand. This series follows a class of girls hoping to be the next stars of the Kouka Acting Troupe, which is a fictional stand-in for the Takarazuka Revue, an all female stage company that handles theater and musical shows. The two main characters are both from different stage traditions that they were sadly ill-suited for and hoping to translate their passion into the style of Kouka. The other characters get decent exposure over the series as well. This is a good story of a specific type of trade school for high schoolers, watching them discover their strengths and failings, and how they all handle that info. The two mains are very different types, but both sympathetic and you end up wanting to root for them chasing a dream.
