Perfect release for both fans and the curious.

by -

The set Viz has released is simply superb. The first thing you'll notice is the sturdy chipboard box with a neat metallic finish giving it a shiny look. Inside it holds the blu-ray case and a nice thick booklet. The booklet contains artwork, an official cosplay shoot, and interviews on top of the usual character and episode guides, while the case contains the blu-rays/DVD's with 2 stickers not mentioned.

The show, is an absolute visual feast for the viewers. The production budget must have been huge cause this show looks stunning. The soundtrack is no slouch either with great tracks and the iconic piano theme appearing multiple times. The show is dense with lore that you learn more and more about as the show progresses. The fight scenes are amazingly choreographed making viewers want to rewatch them over and over again.

I'd highly recommend the show to anyone who likes beautiful shows, amazing action scenes, lovely soundtracks, and interesting and layered stories.

Truly Magnificent Anime

by

This show is magnificent! It has some of the best animation I've ever seen, plus an amazing story and character writing. The mystery story is well-written and engaging, and very compelling. It's just a great show and everyone should watch it.

A masterpiece of modern fantasy

by

This anime is absolutely stunning from the picture quality to the soundtrack to the story itself. The world is brilliant and shiny under the sun unlike any anime I've seen. The music is catchy - like Samurai Champloo meets Final Fantasy, and the story is reminiscent of both, as well. It's both light and deep, and unfolds at a perfect pace. It has you asking questions from the beginning and takes its time to deliver answers. Go in expecting gaps to be filled by the other sets (Missing Kings & Return of Kings). Only complaints - fan service with two female characters. It just seems really out of place, especially given how all of the other characters are drawn. By the time I got to Return of Kings, one was actually distracting because it was so out of place. But, that's a minor complaint. This is one you'll watch again and again.

A fantasy feast!

by

This was a great little find for me. I was almost at the end of my anime "binge" rope when I came across this. Great plot and filled with interesting characters. As someone else mentioned the soundtrack is absolutely amazing! The fan service was the only problem because it broke the mood, and really was unnecessary. But it is worth cringing through that to watch the show. Overall, a thumbs up.

P.S. The show is so good at story telling that you feel as though you aren't in a fantasy setting at all most of the time.

A beautiful series through and through!

by -

I originally bought this anime due to the gorgeous look of the LE case, however, the beauty goes far deeper than that!

The world of K is stunning! This is a beautiful anime where the world, characters and music all collide to be a feast for the viewer.

The story is exciting and very well done. It starts as a mystery and from the beginning, you're trying to determine the true nature of the main character. The music is so SO good and I loved the fight scenes and animation.

I wish I could live in the world of K. For some reason it really reminded me of the world of Final Fantasy 8. From some of the uniforms down to the world itself it seemed influenced from FF8's Garden.

I was pleasantly surprised by my enjoyment of this series. I WILL be completing my k collection with "Missing" and "Return". Count on it!
