Extra Thick and Super Epic
by Patrick -
Loving these thick editions! While I prefer paperback style, the hardcover version is great as well and feels like the volume will hold together longer.
The color pages taken from the original Jump publication is great, too. Really like that feature of these thick editions.
If I had to pick one thing to dislike, it would have to be the lack of interviews by Araki. The hardcover volumes for Phantom Blood through Stardust Crusaders had interviews in the final pages where Araki talked in depth about something related to key characters in that volume. I realize that was because the first three arc hardcover editions were specially made in Japan, and these editions for DiU are made solely for the English release. Still, I miss the extra info we got into how the author looked back at his manga's previous arcs.
All in all, I really love being able to have this thick collections of this epic manga on my bookshelf!
Amazing Volume!
by Daniel -
These volumes fit perfectly onto my shelf! I love the hardcover of these books, which makes it feel more higher quality and premium. I prefer the covers of the Part 4 manga over the previous parts which were art of the characters in the newer styles, I wish they kept the original covers but still looks nice. This volume introduces one of my favorite characters, Rohan Kishibe. One gripe that I have with these volumes are that they're not long enough, they always leave me wanting for more!
