About Interviews with Monster Girls Essentials Blu-ray

Interviews with Monster Girls contains episodes 1-13 of the anime directed by Ryo Ando.

What happens when a demi-obsessed researcher meets a vampire, a dullahan, a snow woman, and a succubus? A whole lot of learning, that’s what! Meet Takahashi Tetsuo, a researcher obsessed with demi-humans, aka demis. After starting his new job as a science teacher, he discovers that this school has three demi students and a demi teacher. With these subjects close at hand, Takahashi does the only thing a dedicated researcher can—interview them! But he quickly discovers there’s more to them than the stories and rumors claim. Between struggling to fit in and dealing with adolescent pressures, Hikari, Machi, and Yuki show Takahashi there’s nothing more complicated than being a teenaged demi! So he decides to help them out, no matter what.

As he learns more about them, Takahashi finds that his research does more than just educate—it also helps the girls learn to accept themselves and connect with one another, making high school just a little bit easier for everyone. Together, they’ll prove that there’s more to demis than the legends reveal!

Got me where it counts

As someone who is highly autistic, I couldn’t help but get a bit teared up watching “Interviews With Monster Girls” last year. If you haven’t watched this show yet, it utilizes supernatural elements to depict people living with disabilities. And even though it’s not the least bit melodramatic, i still found this anime a bit sad and yet so relatable. Now I get to own a physical copy at a reasonable price so I can get misty-eyed all over again!

A monster girl slice of life with a good ongoing manga

by -

A delightful slice of life story that is mostly light hearted but deals with some of the struggles the main cast deals with being demi-humans. The manga is a good pick up after watching the anime series and delves more deeply into the world at large and adds a larger cast but the anime by itself is a great stand alone story as well.

Don't sleep on this one

I though it was going to be another generic echi comedy. How wrong I was, and I'm glad.

It uses the supernatural theme to kind of represent "disabilities and insecurities" people suffer in real life. The comedy was good and even though there's some "fanservice (?)" it did not over welcomed their stay and wasn't shown blatantly for the sake if it.

A Slice Of Life With A Whole Lotta Heart

by -

The basic premise is in a world where monsters [or Demi Humans in this case] exist & are treated as normal citizens, a high school science teacher wants to help 3 demi students & 1 demi teacher & act as a counselor of sorts for them. The demi students are a vampire girl, snow Woman, dullahan, and a succubus teacher. The show goes through basic issues they go through while the receive help from the science teacher. Plenty of laughs [especially when its related to the succubus], & coming of age moments sprinkled in adds to the heartfelt tone.

Textless op & Ed included. Definitely worth a watch if you love Calming slice of life with a good message.
