About I Hear the Sunspot Limit Manga Volume 3

I Hear the Sunspot: Limit Manga Volume 3 features story and art by Yuki Fumino.

Stunningly handsome Kohei Sugihara was outgoing and popular with the girls at school. But when a sudden illness left him with partial hearing loss, he grew quiet and reluctant to engage with others.

At college, a chance encounter with an ever-optimistic classmate named Taichi Sagawa helped Kohei open up once more. And over time, the two began to develop feelings for each other. As the story continues, the pair tries to balance their budding relationship alongside Taichi’s inspiring new career and Kohei’s continued studies.

But things don’t always go as planned. One day, seemingly out of nowhere, Kohei announces that maybe they should spend some time apart.

One of my favorite series!

by -

Yuki Fumino does a phenomenal job at portraying inclusion and exclusion. My favorite aspect of this story is the way it talks about the struggles the deaf/hearing impaired community face in society. I like how two perspectives are offered so you can really understand the issues at hand.

Taichi is a hearing person trying to navigate the deaf/hearing impaired community to understand/ raise awareness. While, Kohei is hearing impaired trying to navigate a hearing world and adjust to the deaf/hearing impaired community. Together they’re trying to navigate all the trials and tribulations life has to offer whether it’s just being themselves or figuring out their relationship. At the center, communication is the biggest challenge of all.

As the Limit series comes to an end, it does leave you wanting more from all the characters involved. You become extremely invested in their growth into adulthood. Unlike the books before, Limit 3 is more happier and doesn’t leave off on a cliffhanger.
