Neptunia is a wonderful series that anyone who's played the games will enjoy. The characters are hilarious and the series is full of parodies of popular games.
The only downside i have to this release is of course the S.a.v.e banner taking up so much space and that on the reverse cover it doesn't say the name of the series, so displaying it like that isn't an option for me.

For whatever reason, I just couldn't get into the series. It's not that it's a bad series or anything, in fact I loved a lot of the video game jokes and shout outs they made, I just couldn't quite get into the characters or the story as much as I usually do.
Goofy Gamer Girls

The main theme of Neptunia seems to be referential humor about video games. The main cast is based on video game consoles and takes their personalities based on their system. The characters compete for shares (popularity) in Gameindustri. Vert for example comes from Leanbox (Xbox). She is good looking like the console, but a total hardcore gamer and shut in (like Xbox players?). She wishes she had a little sister (hand held I guess?) and fawns over other little sister consoles. The personalities are weird and play off well against each other. If you do not like weirdo goofballs then it is not for you. If you DO like it, then you will have a good time. There is also a game series you will like that you can find cheap in a bundle during sales online.

I loved this anime. It has a well written story, as well as good humor and action. I was smiling while watching every episode of this series. The colors are vibrant and the artwork absolutely amazing!! I have never played any of the video game related to this title, but previous knowledge isn't needed to enjoy Hyperdimension Neptunia!! All characters are strong and well defined. Anime in itself is amazing, but watching this one will have you laughing and even crying at some points. Strong recommend.
