Nice Bridge Between Arcs

by -

I enjoyed this volume because it provided a nice transition between story arcs. Gon gets some more information about Ging as well as quite a few unanswered questions. In addition, this volume introduces a lot of new, interesting characters. Togashi does a nice job building anticipation for the next volume and foreshawdowing events even farther down the road.

The intensity really picks up towards the end of the volume and gives you a taste of the darker direction the story is starting to take. Overally, I highly recommend this volume.

calm at home

by -

The comforting scenes of Gon being home after all this time is relaxing, something I didn't expect in an action-based manga. Even still, Togashi sows in mystery that could help Gon find Ging! I always wonder what Leorio is doing when hes absent from the manga for 3+ volumes at a time, having only briefly mentioned med school. Still a relaxing volume that preludes to the future story, and a required read to understand the next volume. 3/5 (I want action!)
