Horimiya Manga Volume 1
About Horimiya Manga Volume 1
Horimiya volume 1 features story by HERO and art by Daisuke Hagiwara.
At first glance, the ultra-popular Hori-san seems like a frivolous high school girl, but in reality, she's plain, pragmatic, and family-oriented. On the other hand, the bespectacled Miyamura-kun comes across as an average, gloomy high school fanboy, but he's actually an attractive young man who has a bad-boy streak and is covered in piercings and tattoos. When these two unexpectedly similar classmates have a random run-in outside of the classroom, a bubbly, sweet tale of school life begins!

Characters full of life
by Vokisa -
The story description for Horimiya sounded really interesting to me. But just because it sounds good doesn't mean that it will be well executed. It was a bit of a gamble buying Horimiya, in that I didn't know what to expect. But boy am I glad that I bought it. The manga is an absolute gem. The chemistry between the two romantic comedy characters brings about a very enjoyable experience. And their range in personalities (from home to school) don't come across as shallow at all. They are full of life. Not the least bit boring, and I love the interaction between the two of them.
The art is great. The story is great. The characters are great. Overall, I love it. And I can't wait for volume 2!
YOU NEED TO READ THIS!
This is one of those books that when you start reading it, you don't want it to stop or just don't want it to end.
Horimiya is a very fluffy and fun story that you really need in your life. It's light, sweet, funny and just overall amazing. You think it's just for kids or teens? Think again buddy! This manga is beautiful inside and out. Yen press really did an amazing job on this one. Glossy cover and thick pages. It's also a very refreshing take on japanese highschool life that everyone will love and the characters are so alive and relatable that you just want to be part of their circle.
IT IS A MUST READ!!! TRUST ME!

I've read many mangas and I fell in love with this one, it's really amazing, the story is so cute and the art is great. IT IS A MUST HAVE!!!!!
Light Love Story
Great characters with a twist on the typical high school romance genre. Heavy focus on the characters and in a way similar to Toradora! But with more of a seriousness throughout.
A Fun, Romantic Comedy

For me, romantic comedy manga needs to have three things: smooth artwork, well-written developments, and, most importantly, characters with great chemistry. Horimiya fulfills all of these requirements, especially with the main characters. It is one of the few manga that I will go back to re-read over, which is something I usually don't do. If you're looking for some high quality manga, it doesn't get much better than this.

I liked all the characters from the start, though I do find that a lot of manga depict teenagers as living home alone, which I don't think is common at all.
