Underrated manga with beautiful artwork

by -

The artwork for happiness is really unique and creepy (in a good way) that goes well with the story. The only thing I didn't like was the sexual content in the manga, which I feel was not necessary towards the story. However, I still really enjoyed this manga and would recommend it to anyone who likes Tokyo Ghoul which I felt was a little similar.

Bad friends make for good blood!

by -

In the four years I spent in high school, not once did I catch a glimpse of a serendipitous panty shot. Two volumes in and our protagonist, Makoto, is averaging one peep per volume! That's not to say this is spurious ecchi. Both events serve the transformation of Makoto.

Previously, Makoto stored the visual of the upskirt view into his mental database for use as fodder for self-gratification. This time, it reminds Makoto of his thirst for blood. His mental playback of the event focuses on the pulsing of blood through the femoral artery--a suggestion of his waning humanity.

The art is spectacular. There is a great series of panels where we see the world from Makoto's eyes as it contorts into a blur of visual distortion. Urges overcome him while under physical duress and mangaka Shuzo Oshimi convincingly transports you. Happiness continues to be a suspenseful and engaging series. Highly Recommended!

The momentum definitely starts to pick up. It is so good till the very end with multiple cliffhangers! It'll be hard not wanting to continue this series!

After reading Volume 1 I got this Volume since I had enjoyed myself and surely wanted to see what happens next. I was not disappointed, it picked it up and it got a whole lot more fun reading through this story! Im liking the transformation Okazaki's personality is going through and honestly grew to liking Yuuki's character a little more too now that he isn't the person he was before. Goshosan is becoming one of my favorite characters..her personality is so likeable. She brings some light humor, is cute, caring, and im enjoying the relationship she is developing with Okazaki. So much pain, violence, even death happens and the ending just wanted you wanting even more! Not going to spoil the end of the volume but it was so good!! I'm hooked, after this I'm ordering Volumes 3-10!

Quite the thrilling series indeed

by -

Quite the good series I would say, still recommend. It is pretty sad and interesting how things are going. Also yeah, I suppose it shows how to pick your friends, because they aren't a good influence for Makato, but I suppose overall they are chill, but be careful. Overall I really enjoy this manga, I cant wait to collect all 10 volumes and read the whole story. If you do have the chance, I do recommend getting this series.
