About Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin Manga Volume 1 (Hardcover)

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin omnibus 1 features story and art by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and Yoshiyuki Tomino.

It is the year Universal Century 0079. The Earth Federation is storing and testing a new piloted robot for use in the battle against the Principality of Zeon in a space colony. The experimental RX-78 Gundam mobile suit is scheduled to be transported to Federation command in Jaburo, deep within the Brazilian jungles. Unfortunately, before the transporter arrives the Federation is attacked. With few resources available against the Zeon's most mobile mechs, Federation forces strike back using their new weapon, the mobile suit Gundam.

Caught in the crossfire is a young teen named Amuro Ray. Not willing to see innocent people die, Amuro crawls into the cockpit of the closest machine: a Gundam. Having never operated a machine like this, what are the chances he can do anything to repel an experienced squad of mech-piloting invaders?

A spectacular manga published by Vertical

by -

This review is going to be about the quality of the manga. The art in the cover and manga it self is amazing, it's gorgeous and you can see the expression of the characters clearly. The page quality is one of the best, it includes 56 full color pages and the rest is black and white. This is an omnibus containing the first two volume, it's not too big or small fit perfectly in my hands and look beautiful. I had read it a couple of times and seems that The binding is well made haven't had any issues. When touched the cover feels good and soft(it's a hardcover so I'm referring to touching texture), just by holding and feeling the manga you notice right away the great quality and that it's made with care and precision to details. If you ask me would you recommend buying? I would say yes yes and yes. It's a great story and you get a badass quality manga. Job well done Vertical.

A Must Buy for Any Gundam Fan!!!

by

This hardcover Gundam retelling is fantastic. The artwork is superb, various Mobile Suits within have been updated from their older counterparts (I'm looking at you Guntank), and the pace of the story is not rushed. Though the price is high for your standard omnibus styled volume, this is a hardcover masterpiece with extras such as artwork and multiple essays to read from fans and publishers influenced by the series when they were children watching the series.

First Experience With Gundam

by -

As the title says, Gundam has somehow passed me by for years. I wasn't sure how I'd like the series cause I'm not typically a mecha fan, so I bought the first 3 volumes to give it a shot. It wasn't until we're introduced to the main villain and some of the other main characters that I got fully invested and started to understand the importance of what was going on. And wow, once I was hooked I WAS HOOKED. I'm loving the story so far and the quality of this release is leaps and bounds above anything you'll find (Dark Horse deluxe editions excluded). Psyched to keep collecting this awesome series!!

A Mecha Masterpiece Reborn

by

The Origin retells the story of the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam and so much more, and in the best ways a remake/reimagining should. With reworked pacing and plot lines that smooth the story out better, added backstory further fleshing out fan favorite characters, to beautifully detailed art highlighting the brutality of the One Year War, The Origin expands upon the original anime whilst paying utmost respect to Yoshiyuki Tomino’s brainchild that first started the franchise all those years ago. It’s not so much a replacement for Gundam 0079 as it’s a fresh coat of paint for an old machine that can still function with the best of them, and sits perfectly as a lovingly crafted manga tribute and additive to the original anime for old fans while doubly serving as an effective entry point for new fans.

LET'S GOOOOO!!!!!

I got this after watching the series Gundam Origin and WOW! Does this not deliver on all cylinders?!!?! Toss on the music from the show and go for it. Every low hanging fruit and thing that seemed off in the original Gundam is buttoned up and fixed in this title, giving you a 100% seamless GUNDAM EXPERIENCE. There was a lot of thought and love put in to this. So even if you've never watched Gundam this is a great title to read period.
