Great buy picture is great and they even put some of the three parter episodes into movie form. This set even comes with two alternate versions of two episodes. This makes me hope that at some point that they will release the Robin Hood anime and the Peter Pan and the pirates anime
A nostalgic anime blast from the past

My wife is from Japan and she used to watch this show growing up. She was so excited when I showed her it was coming out on Blu-ray in the US, so we bought it right away and she loves it so much and feeling nostalgic! For me, even though I didn't watch this show growing up, I still very much enjoyed all the episodes.
It's also fun that you can watch both the Japanese original version and English version. The Grimm stories are all very unique and you can enjoy and learn so many Grimm short stories from minor (such as Old Sultan) to major (such as Sleeping Beauty). Some of them are so creepy that I can't believe this show was meant for kids, but others are really fun and cute.
Also just a note that even though this is "SD on BD," the video quality looks very pristine! I often had to remind myself I wasn't watching HD content. Plus it's great to have all the episodes on one disc! Great for both kids and adults. Looking forward to picking up Season 2!
