Delightfully Depressing

This second omnibus just amps up the sad-factor to another notch. Besides Punpun and his classmates now being slightly more jaded pre-teens, we're treated to some backstory for Punpun's uncle, which gives significantly more depression to what seemed like a very rom-com setup at first.
Finishing this volume left me feeling super bummed, out, but it's a good series that's good at doing that, so I wouldn't call that a bad thing.
Punpun's Journey Continues

The book arrived quickly and in excellent condition. With the second volume of Goodnight Punpun, readers can continue watching Punpun grow up, along with all the pain and awkwardness of puberty.
A rewarding read

This series captures youth. I like the juxtaposition of the super-realistic art style and more cartoony elements. The surprising philosophical depth reminds me of "Calvin and Hobbes". Keep in mind, still, this series really is not for everyone, on the count of the mature story elements and troubled characters. This author is reluctant to pull punches!
