About Golden Boy DVD

Golden Boy, Kintaro Oe, was at the top of his class at the Tokyo University Law School, one of the most prestigious in the entire world. Mastering the entire curriculum easily, he vanished just before graduation. Now he bikes across Japan on a quest to learn what's most important in life: the lessons that can't be studied in a classroom.

First stop is an upstart software company, where the sleekly dressed president has curves that defy computation. Then he tutors a poor little rich girl who's looking for a little experience. Very educational! But nothing can compare to Kintaro's racing challenge against a motorcycle queen who literally loves her bike. She would make anyone want to stay up all night studying! Bouncing beauties keep tumbling across the pages of Kintaro's notebook, but they'll be the ones learning their lesson in the end. See? Studying can by fun!

so funny!

i don't think i've ever laughed so much in my entire life(exaggerated but still). this show was so funny. i think i even watched the dubbed and that was great. great buy!

A MUST HAVE FOR YOUR COLLECTION

One of the greatest short series I have ever watched. The voice actors go all out on dub to capture the characters energy. Paced well, I still feel fire for Kintaro's inexhaustible optimism and willingness to learn.

The first five episodes are standalone that tie nicely into the finale sixth. The final episode is so extremely self-indulgent and congratulatory that they insert some related photos in some scenes that most likely won't be noticed on first viewings.

I am so happy to have watched this humorous, perverted gem.

Hilarious and Carefree

The story follows Kintaro who is a college dropout who is more intelligent than he lets on. He cycles from one job to the next encountering women who he happens to shamelessly swoon over (this is the best part of the show) while working odd jobs. He always has a positive attitude which keeps the show lighthearted and fun. I can't help but smile and feel a little envious of Kintaro's lifestyle. The story doesn't really reach a conclusion since this is more of a tie in to get people to read the manga. Despite this I would still recommend this to anyone who doesn't have a problem with toilet humor (literally!) and nudity.

And I don't even like ecchi/harem!

I'm not a big fan of ecchi/harem. At all. It's one of my least favorite genres out there. But if they were all as good as Golden Boy? I could go for that! The jokes here aren't all pointless sex jokes and lewd humor (though it's certainly in here) and you can see why women might like Kintaro Oe (even if he is more or less a loser ronin). It also doesn't overstay its welcome with only 6 episodes (though I'd have loved a few more!) and each episode is episodic, not giving time for the harem girls to get on your nerves! And, being an OVA, it has good production values as well!
