About Girls und Panzer Complete TV Series Blu-ray

This Girls und Panzer Complete TV Series set contains episodes 1-12.

You may have heard of kung fu, but the girls at Oarai Academy practice gun-fu - really, really BIG gun-fu, in fact. It's called Tankery, and it's the martial art of operating armored tanks! And even though the Tankery program at Oarai has been defunct for years, the student council has taken a sudden interest in the art and no one they set their sights on is safe.

That's how Miho Nishizumi, who transferred to Oarai specifically to stay out of tanks, gets drafted to join the newly revived Tankery divison. But it's not all bad, because joining her in Team Anglerfish are her new-found friends Saori, the highly receptive radio operator; Hana, a flower arranger turned gunner; Mako, their brilliant but chronically sleepy driver; and combustible tank fangirl and loader Yukari. They may not be on the half-track to fame and fortune, and maybe some of them would rather shop for tank tops than become tops in tanks, but once their focus is locked and loaded, they're absolutely driven.

Awesome Tank Otaku Anime

by

I bought this anime after I had already watched the series on Crunchyroll.com. Blu-Ray Image is very crisp and detailed compared to the TV series that is streamed, and they fixed any problems & mistakes the animation studio had made for the TV production. if you like Girls Und Panzer, owning the blu-ray version is a must.

Girls und Panzer BD Complate TV series

by

This series is absolutely delightful to watch. If you need to categorize this by genre, I think "Sports" is closest, but "Fantasy" is a close second. The friendship and growing teamwork between the girls is a joy to see and the attention to detail of the realistic tanks (plus the action scenes) too. But if you're looking for panty shots, there are none (there IS a LITTLE fan service, though). Speaking of attention to detail, I see something new almost every time I watch again. The story is completed in only 12 episodes, but there are extras to look for. There's an OVA disk of 6 short episodes (has been sold on RightStuf.com) and the battle with the Italian team (glossed over in the original series) has played in Japan, but I don't know if it's available on disk, yet.

Amazing show

by -

Amazing is not enough to describe this anime. This is the beginning of a new genre in X-GAMES "Tankering". Girls Und Panzer is a show not only for anime fans but also to non-anime fans. There is no fanservice, interesting characters, fierce mock tank battles...what else...history maybe

I found Girls Und Panzer to be both captivating and inspirational

AN ANIME FOR EVERYONE!!!

Don't miss anime!!!, OWN IT TODAY!!!

Mädchen and Tanks!

by -

The combination of cute, fluffy, moe high school girls and battle-worn, real-life military hardware could have been terrible, but Girls und Panzer manages to make a heartwarming yet action-packed yarn out of it. Why does it work as well as it does? It's because the care that goes into developing the main characters and the care that goes into the tank depictions and tactics are on equal ground. The show is serious about both its peculiar story and its hardware.

Those reviews claiming there's no fan service are all wrong. There is a TON of fan service--TANK fan service! History lessons for each tank model, stunning 3D modeling and sound design, all-out tank on tank action! Even if you can't keep the characters straight (there are too many), even if the main character proving her worth doesn't inspire you (but it should), the tank action is top rank.

Blu-ray note: The Introductions specials are both on Disc 2 (and subs only), but the first would have been better on Disc 1.

Love Girls and Tanks?

by

Girls and tanks. My two favorite things. This series is very informative on tanks and history. Great story. Your classic tail of saving ones school as the under dogs. Great ending, but I with there was more seasons. No fan service what so ever. You can watch this with your mother or sister, lol.

World Of Tanks. The Anime.

by -

Theres a reason why this anime series is so popular. Mix Girls driving tanks. Perfect combo. Plus this is a series that mixes CGI Animation with hand drawn artwork perfectly. And thats a rare sight. Pretty much like world of tanks the anime. If you loved watching this on crunchyroll or any sight and are now looking at my review what are you waiting for? you know it will look good on your shelf ;) the OVA blu ray is also worth it as well! Just waiting for the movie to come out to add to the collection!

Tanks!!

I bought this mostly because I love tanks. The story is good, not great. The characters are ok. But I just can't resist an anime featuring tanks.

Panzer Vor!

by -

This series is one of the ones I keep coming back to watch again. It hits a bunch of cliches. Cute girls sports team? Check. Have to win to save their school? Check. A bunch of misfits who've never played their 'sport' before? Check. We've all seen these things again and again in movies, tv, anime and manga. But with the sport being the 'Way of the Tank' it creates a different twist. The tanks and their battles are well animated and exciting to watch. There's a lot of history thrown in too. It's a large cast of girls but they're all different making them fun to watch and listen to. The VAs did a good job with a dub that gets stronger and stronger with each episode. This is also a very 'clean' series. Very little 'fan service'. If you're looking for a different sports anime, then I highly recommend this!

One of the Best Anime Experiences I've Had

by -

I don't need to say much, the internet is already full of reasons why you should watch this show. Why buy the blu-ray though? Replay value. I've probably watched this series 5 times so far, since purchasing it a few months ago. This is a show where quality shines upon repeat viewing. The subtle yet defining quirks of the characters, the diverse and exciting battles, the attention to mechanical detail and accuracy of the tanks, the cultural/national tributes of each school, the beautiful yet cheeky score, and what I consider to be an excellent dub by Sentai, make this a show you can appreciate on multiple levels. It's certainly not perfect, but it's flaws are minor and outweighed by its strengths. It's also one of the few anime these days with practically no fanservice, and since there is no violence either, it can really be enjoyed at any age. This show's got character and charm. I love it!

Wonderfully Imaginative

by -

I was really skeptical digging into this Anime, but I found it really surprising how much structure it had compared to most other Anime(s).

The entire world here functions like a Military operation. The girls live on a custom super aircraft carrier and the upper clansmen run daily operations.

The only thing this series lacks is an Aviation club at the school to run Land&Air Tankery tournaments.

Awesome Anime w/Girls, Tanks & Battles

by -

Okay as far as the story goes it is a very good story and the character are interesting with the own quirks here. Also as far as accurately modeling the tanks that are used by the various teams is pretty spot on here. But I am fairly well versed here in all the tanks they used here in this anime here. There were just some nagging issues that bothered me here like tank speeds, they all seemed to go way faster then their real life counterparts and the tanks used by the main characters school shouldn't have had a chance with the first school they fought & especially with the later schools in the show to. But still a great anime to watch despite that!

A Very Unexpected Surprise

by -

I really didn't expect anything from this show. I bought it on a whim during the last Birthday Sale because it was cheap and I thought the premise was ridiculous (and the girls were cute, but whatever, you get my point!). Anyway, fast forward to today and I must say this is kind of a guilty pleasure for me... the Japanese have a talent to grab a ridiculous premise with a ridiculous setting that should never work, but then they make it work somehow. That is how I feel about Girls und Panzer, a light, funny and cute anime about girls in school competing with WW2 tanks as sport... I know, it sound absolutely ludicrous, but give it a chance! Just think of all those other anime shows you thought for sure you were gonna hate but then absolutely loved... this might be your next favorite thing. It even got me into looking into model kits for the tanks in the series... >.>
