Not the Easiest Set for Newcomers, but Manageable and a Ton of Fun

Honestly, Gin Tama has had something of a an interesting time of trying to gain traction here in the U.S. To be fair, for a comedy show, it is pretty fast paced and a fair amount of the anime or Japanese historical references it makes can go over some people's heads, but don't let that stop you from giving it a shot. Yes, the Series 3 label can be intimidating, but given Gin Tama's episodic nature & the shift to a different studio, what Crunchyroll and FUNimation have been able to licenese actually makes a fair jumping on point, plus the character guide included helps get the idea of who the cast is & how they relate. Overall, the dub is pretty good, as is the excellent Japanese voice cast--mostly, they were able to adapt the humor/references, but there are times (namely, the history tutor &Sizzle episode) when they didn't stand a chance, but still land a few jokes even at the most niche. Yes, there is disappointingly no commentary, but great content nonetheless. More please!

Gintama is a great show and this is the bluray for the third season. I wish that there were blurays for all the seasons available in English, but I'll take what I can get. It looks nice, and it has the sub and dub.
